Two Paws Up NC Shelter Rescue

Who We Are:2PawsUp started in early 2007 when a small group of volunteers began helping to transport animals from the Harnett County Animal Control Facility to people who wanted to adopt but could not make it to the shelter themselves. After months of this service, we expanded our services to a full adoption agency. We are now a recognized non-profit, 501c3 organization in the state of North Carolina. We are a devoted team of animal-loving philanthropists with a desire to make a difference in the North Carolina community. Our Mission:2PawsUp's mission is to save animals on death row in high kill shelters; provide any needed medical care; and find loving, safe forever homes for each and every animal. 2PawsUp also seeks to raise the awareness of overpopulation and high euthanasia rates in North Carolina, and to help stop the endless cycle of animals ending up in shelters by spaying and neutering every animal that comes through the 2PawsUp program. Why We Are Different:As a future pet owner, you are probably looking for an adoption agency that is right for you. Each rescue group should have something that appeals to different groups of people, so everyone can find their future pet. This is what makes us different from other rescue organizations:·· Our main focus is shelter pets. Most rescue groups focus on stray animals before they end up in the shelter. We try to help as many animals that are in imminent danger of being put down. We do accept animals from elsewhere as well, but high-kill shelters are our main focus.·· Our adoption fees vary between animals, as we try to keep our adoption fees as low as possible. We do not charge you for something we did not provide. For example, if a dog came into the shelter already neutered, the cost of that neuter will NOT be included in his adoption fee. For more information about our adoptions, the feed, and the typical process please view our Adoption page.

Meet Bennett

Meet Bennett! Part Chihuahua, Dachshund and Weasel...? He is 9 years young and just the cutest little guy ever. He was rescued from a neglectful home and has been with his foster family for about three weeks now. He is on a great track to being house-trained (especially given that he was not in his previous home). He's used to being crated a few hours a day but needs an afternoon break, so if you work long hours he's not the one for you. At night he would prefer to be right by your side, he's content to sleep under the covers all night long. He walks well on a leash and will shoot quicks looks behind him to make sure you're still there. He is a snuggle bug 100% and wants to be near or on you whenever possible. He enjoys trips to Home Depot, Breweries, outdoor patios - if he can sit on your lap he's a happy boy. He does well with kids (who can respect boundaries) other dogs and cats! He really is an amazing dude who deserves an equally amazing life. So put in that application so you can meet this wonderful pup.Adoption fee of $150 includes neuter, microchip, vaccines, deworming, heartworm testing, and heartworm/flea/tick preventionApply here: https://2pawsup.org/applications/adoption-application/

Once we have received your application, we will check the necessary references. If additional information is required, we will contact you. 2. Once approved, arrange a time to meet the animal and foster family. Any questions you may have can be answered at this time. 3. If you decide to move forward with the adoption, you will set up a time to receive your new family member for the seven-day adoption trial period. You will be required to sign an adoption contract and pay the adoption fee at this time. 4. If for any reason during this one-week trial period you feel that the animal is not a perfect match for your family, you can return the animal to 2PawsUp for a full refund. 5. After the one-week trial period is over, the animal is yours to love and cherish forever. 6. If for any reason you are unable to keep the animal, you must return the animal to 2PawsUp.
