OWNER PLACEMENT                                                (954) 914-6696 ASSISTED BY SCHNAUZER RESCUE OF THE CAROLINAS I cannot tell you what my original name was because my first owners only called me by that name when they yelled at me, so I stayed out of their way without wasting time to listen.  I cannot understand why they got me from the shelter because by doing that, they removed my opportunity to have a loving home!  When I was young and full of hope, these people came to get me, and said they would provide me with a wonderful home. Our ideas of "wonderful" differed considerably because with them I was lucky to get fed at least one meal a day and eventually even that stopped. Later they moved away and forgot to take me with them.  I got so hungry and so lonely--so much for their idea of "wonderful".   Obviously I would have to find it for myself, so I began to follow people hoping they would see my need and give me love and food; yet they all ignored my desperate needs so my ribs began to show more and more every day.... then just as I was ready to give up completely, my Angel appeared! Her eyes teared up when she saw how pitiful I was; still  she knew that she had no room for me -- yet she could not leave me behind.  Suddenly she let me ride in her car, which I loved and then we went to visit a nice vet.  The vet told her that I had heart problems which would need medication and that I also had something called heartworms.  From the look on the vet's face I knew that she would leave me behind, yet my Angel just hugged me and made certain I got the medication I needed. She told me on the way home that she would find me a loving home because she already had animals who lived with her, but that she would never abandon me the way my first family did.  Suddenly I could relax because I believed her. My Angel named me RUBERT, and gave me  my medication regularly. When I am adopted she is going to provide the necessary medication for my adoptive family to continue it so that I will be well cared for.  When she looks at me, I know everything is going to be alright.  I weigh about 20 pounds now and I am no more than 8 years old.  I am primarily white in color,  very friendly and LOVE affection.  I know my life is going to be so much better from now on.  I already feel so much better and am looking forward to meeting my new adoptive family.  Just know that I will be the best buddy anyone could ask for.  I already know how to walk on a leash, and I have a halter that comes with me.  I love to go for car rides, or just lie beside my person while they read or watch TV.  I like going for walks yet I do have to be relatively calm since I do have a grade 3 heart murmur.  With that heart murmur and heartworms, I am not able to be neutered or have a dental until I am doing better.  Right now, it it thought that the slow kill method will be best for the heartworms.  Once I am all better, then other things may be considered.   THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN FLORIDA THE DONATION BEING REQUESTED IN HONOR OF THE ADOPTON IS:_$250_____ Please submit a completed adoption application and with that application, submit vet records for any pets you have had within the last 3 years along with photos of your residence including the yard (including the fencing).  The owner of this Schnauzer will review all approved applications and documentation that SRC sends to them.  They will contact you to ask questions and to answer any questions you may have.  At that point if a meet and greet has been scheduled, an adoption contract will be sent to you which you must sign and return to SRC.  If the meet and greet goes well, your donation of $250 (tax deductible)  may be made online so that the release of the Schnauzer may happen.  SRC will notify the owner of this Schnauzer when the donation is completed so that they may release the Schnauzer to their new adoptive home.  SRC will register his  micro-chip in the new adoptive parents’ name(s) at no additional charge.

Adoption Process
Our adoption process includes an application which is reviewed, then a vet and or personal reference. If this is satisfactory, then an informal home visit is conducted -- when this is approved an adoption contract is reviewed and signed. A tax deductible donation is requested which seldom covers the medical charges of the canine which has been readied for its new home. Each rescued dog is also evaluated for a minimum of 2 weeks prior to adoption and its medical needs are met, sometimes to include restoring vision when they have juvenile cataracts, removing bladders stones, doing dentals, micro-chipping, etc.
