Meet Gizmo
Gizmo is a sweet, friendly, happy girl who is ready to retire from motherhood. She was rescued from a busy road by a good samaritan and delivered a surprise single puppy a few days later. The puppy was rehomed by the Good Samaritan, so now we just need to find a home for mama. Gizmo is 18 lbs, loves a good lap, gets along well with other dogs and ignores cats. She tries to play with her foster siblings, but they are not interested. The vet thinks she is probably between 8 and 10 years old. She follows her foster mom like a shadow and loves to sleep on the couch and the bed, but will also sleep in a crate, as long as it's in the bedroom! She does NOT like being locked out of whatever room people are in and will let you know she's not happy. The perfect home for Gizmo would be a home with a fenced in yard and possibly a doggie door, as she is still working on her housetraining and needs to be let out frequently and promptly after eating or sleeping. This should improve with time and encouragement. She would also benefit from a home where a person is there a lot of the time and/or has other pets to keep her company. Gizmo is located in Charleston, SC and will be available for adoption once she completes her vetting and spay. Apply at https://www.bostonrescueteam.com/info/adoption
Adoption Process
We have a set of adoption criteria (such as dogs are inside dogs only, one must be 21 or older to adopt, dogs must never be chained or shocked). We have applicants fill out an adoption application and submit to a veterinary reference check and home visit before adoption. When all steps are completed in this process, they sign an adoption contract and pay the appropriate fees. Fees vary by age of the dog but are all listed on our Petfinder page.
