The Animal Protection Society of Durham (APS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been helping animals in our community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. Hello there! I’m timid, stoic, curious, anxious, appeasing, and affectionate once I’m comfortable. It takes me time to warm up, but once I do I’ll ask for gentle affection. I like toys, treats and gentle petting. I need people to go slow with me, be gentle and help me learn basic training. Kids 10+, stoic, timid, grabby with treats Dogs: some sniffing, rude, tried to hump, slow intros

Adoption Process
Cats: $95 Dogs: $125-$175 Requirements: Government issues ID 18 and older Own home OR live in a place where pets are allowed No past animal about charges Cannot be under the influence when adopting Cannot be adopting the animal as a gift
