Meet Tiny

Tiny is an adorable 6 lb, Maltese/Shih Tzu mix, who turns 2 yrs old in June. She has some gold and silver Shih Tzu coloring but with the coat texture and personality of a Maltese.  Her owner’s work schedule changed to be away from home 13+hours/day, which made Tiny somewhat distressed.   It took her a few days to get used to being in a new home, but she slowly became more comfortable, and it’s easy to see there is a happy and confident little dog just underneath the surface.  With a little patience, in the right home, she will thrive and be a perfect delight. Tiny lived with a cat and dog, so we prefer a home where there is another small dog, 10lbs or less; however, the other dog needs to tolerate Tiny’s puppy-like, high-energy play style. Tiny is young and quick, so she needs an adopter who is also. She is not an appropriate dog for a senior citizen. Tiny seems to be sound-sensitive and will bark at new and unexpected sounds and people, so she is not suitable for homes with shared walls.   Maltese are not an inexpensive breed to own, in addition to grooming requirements, Maltese genetically have terrible teeth, so her adopter must be committed to dental care over her lifetime and be able to afford regular cleanings and tooth extractions when needed. Tiny is mostly house-trained and will use pee pads if available but knows her potty spot is outside and does well with that. The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact [email protected]. There is an application process and adoption fee. We require an all-adult home (no young children) with a securely fenced yard, with NO gaps larger than 1 ½ inches and attached to the home. An invisible fence, enclosed patio or terrace, temporary fencing, dog pens, dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee:  $500
