Meet Adonis - Adoption Pending
If you're looking for the sweetest German Shepherd, Adonis is your man! Taking after his namesake, Adonis is an absolutely stunning 1 year old, 66 pound German Shepherd. Adonis is potty trained and crate trained and, for the most part, walks well on a leash and is improving every day. He is so amazing with kids! He absolutely adores them; Adonis sometimes is not aware of his size so little ones that are wobbly on their feet might get knocked down. Adonis would do well with other dogs after proper introductions are made but is content to be the one and only as well. He has not been around cats but as long as you are willing to guide and teach him, he will do fine! Adonis is also still learning table manners, so he is learning to lay quietly in his crate while his foster family enjoys their dinner… he doesn’t even make a peep. However, for his dinner he has great table manners and sits and waits patiently. With his moderate activity level, he will need a yard with a six foot fence. Adonis is the perfect snuggle buddy and will be the absolute best companion to anyone who adopts him. If you are interested in adding Adonis to your family, please reach out to your adoption coordinator. If you don’t have an adoption coordinator you can fill out an application to adopt by visiting www.freedomgermanshepherdrescue.org . Adonis is being fostered near Raleigh, NC.
Adoption Process
All applicants must pass a vet check, phone interview and home visit in order to adopt. Once an applicant passes, they must sign an adoption contract where they agree to alter the dog by 6 months of age - if they are adopting a puppy, guarantee that the dog will receive proper vet care, food, water and exercise, and will return the dog to the rescue if they can no longer keep the dog for any reason. All dogs are microchipped prior to adoption, with Freedom GSR always remaining on the chip. The adoption fee is $250, adopters receive a 2 week trial period with the dog and if the adopter is found to be in violation of the contract, Freedom GSR will reclaim the dog. All dogs will not be adopted out until they are up to date on shots, free of heartworms and intestinal parasites and altered, if six months of age or older. If a puppy is adopted, the adoption contract stipulates that the puppy must be altered by the time s/he turns 6 months old.
