Meet Ella

Ella is a 3 yr old Yorkie-Maltese mix who weighs about 9 lbs. She came to us from a hoarding/breeding situation in a home with 29 dogs.  Despite coming from a hoarding home Ella is surprisingly social and friendly.  Her hair is silky soft and requires combing and regular grooming, which she has done well with so far. Ella is a happy, bouncy girl who likes to engage with people and other small dogs. Her adoptive home should preferably have another small social dog under 15 pounds. Coming to us from a hoarding situation means everything is new to Ella, including house training; however, her foster mom says she is learning quickly. Ella will need someone with patience to help her continue to be successful. Ella has not learned leash walking yet.  We are requiring a securely fenced yard for Ella so she can have the opportunity to play safely supervised in her own yard, a fenced yard helps with housetraining and most importantly it is an added layer of safety because Ella is fast! The adoption range for this dog is limited to NC, SC, VA and East TN. If you are interested in adopting this dog, contact [email protected]. There is an application process and adoption fee. WE REQUIRE AN ALL-ADULT HOME WITH A SECURELY FENCED YARD. The secure fence must be 4ft or higher, with gaps no greater than 2 inches, and attached to the home - meaning you have an inside door that opens into the fenced yard. An invisible fence, enclosed patio, terrace or deck, temporary fencing, dog pens or dog lots or community shared fencing (dog park) are NOT considered secure fencing. If your fencing has "puppy pickets" (or is supplemented with garden fencing) it needs to be at least 36 inches high from the ground up AT THE LOWEST POINT. No exceptions. We are an all-volunteer organization, and in addition to saving dogs, we have other responsibilities, so we appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. Response time can take up to 5 business. Please inquire only if you are willing to come to Greensboro, NC to meet the dog after we schedule your home visit. We do not ship dogs or put them on transports. Veterinary Care: All Hart-2-Heart Rescue foster dogs are spayed/neutered, current on heartworm prevention, parvo/distemper, bordetella, and rabies vaccines, and are professionally groomed. As needed, our foster dogs have teeth cleanings, extractions, bloodwork and other diagnostic testing. Adoption Fee: $500
