Meet Claire
Name / Breed / Age: Claire, American Staffordshire Terrier Mix, Adult Personality Traits: Happy go lucky, The Social Butterfly, Curious Likes / Dislikes: Loves toys of all kinds. Dislikes missing out of fun if she's in her crate or another room. Health and behavior history: Up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and spayed. Clean bill of health from the PIPs Vet!Hi! My name is Claire. I am a playful, 2-year-old female weighing in at about 50 pounds. I'm the perfect size! Not too large, and not too small. I am learning to walk better on a leash. I have had lots of practice, and practice makes perfect. Walking with my foster brother helps me stay calm and not pull on our walk. I follow his lead, but I also walk well by myself because I've been practicing. I've got more confidence now being out of the shelter environment. I am still young so I would love to have a family that will help train me to be a respectable, well-mannered dog. I am mouthy because no one has taught me to not be. I take treats with a gentle mouth says my foster mom. I do get out of control when I'm playing with my foster mom and like to "nib" on toys, tennis balls, and hands. I don't mean to, but it feels like a pinch! I'm really working to control my mouthiness. For this reason, no small children in the home. Right now, I love love love toys and playing with other dogs. Please always give me a slow introduction to any other animals in the home. I was used in numerous dog tests in my time at the shelter and did well. I love my big 85-pound foster brother dog and we rough house as much as our foster mom lets us. I am still not sure about staying in my crate. I whine at first and then settle down after a few minutes. I wag my tail constantly! My foster mom says I'm a happy pup and would love to bring some love to your home. Please book a meet and greet with me today! You won't be disappointed.
Adoption Process
Once we receive your application an adoption counselor will take a look and reach out with any questions.
The team will check personal, vet references and check with your landlord if applicable. Your adoption counselor will then set up a time to talk with you and your family (or anyone else involved in the adoption process in your home). This call is a good time to ask any questions you have.
Once your application is approved, you will be connected with the foster of the PIP(s) you are interested in. From start to finish, this process can take anywhere from a few days to over a week (so please be patient!). If everything goes well and you and the foster agree that the PIP you want to adopt is a good fit, we will then finalize the adoption.
Adoption fees are $325 for adults and $375 for puppies. All dogs will be up to date on age appropriate vaccines and spayed / neutered if old enough. If not old enough adopters can come back to our vet to have it covered in fee. It must be done by the time the dog is 6 months old.
