The Animal Protection Society of Durham (APS) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has been helping animals in our community since 1970, and has managed the Durham County Animal Shelter since 1990. Meet McLovin

Oh hi! I'm a super sweet and timid boy who can be appeasing in new situations. It takes me a while to warm up to new people, but once we're pals I'm all about leaning in for gentle rubs. I've been told it's quite endearing! I'm pretty nervous here in the shelter; I'd really rather be in a quiet home with gentle people and a cozy retreat. I'll need confidence building, leash training, positive experiences, and lots of affection. Let's hang out soon! Kids: 10+, gentle and dog-savvy kids; very sensitive, go slow Dogs: Some sniffing, prefers people. Slow and careful intros with gentle dogs

Adoption Process
Cats: $95 Dogs: $125-$175 Requirements: Government issues ID 18 and older Own home OR live in a place where pets are allowed No past animal about charges Cannot be under the influence when adopting Cannot be adopting the animal as a gift
