Meet Meleys
Name / Breed / Age: Meleys, Belgian Malinois, puppy Personality Traits: Happy go lucky, Curious, Loveable Likes / Dislikes: Likes being held and snuggled. Dislikes being left out of the action. Health and behavior history: Up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped and will be neutered between 4-7 months. Clean bill of health from the PIPs Vet!Hi! My name is Meleys, but my foster parents call me Mel or Melly for short. I am a playful and spirited Malinois puppy – also known as a little “Maligator” in the making! Like most Malinois, I’m full of energy, smarts, and affection, looking for a home with someone experienced in handling my breed or dedicated to training me as I grow. I love to be part of the action and thrive on human companionship. After I’ve burned off my energy, I’m a snuggle bug who wants to be close to my people. I get along well with my doggy foster siblings, though I haven’t had much time with my foster family’s cat yet, so we’re still figuring out if I’m cat-compatible. I’m friendly with both adults and kids, though little ones should know I’m still in my “everything’s-a-chew-toy” phase – toes, fingers, pants, shoes, you name it! I’m working on potty and crate training, and I sleep through the night in my crate. If you’re looking for a loyal, loving companion and have the dedication to guide me, I’d love to be part of your family!
Adoption Process
Once we receive your application an adoption counselor will take a look and reach out with any questions.
The team will check personal, vet references and check with your landlord if applicable. Your adoption counselor will then set up a time to talk with you and your family (or anyone else involved in the adoption process in your home). This call is a good time to ask any questions you have.
Once your application is approved, you will be connected with the foster of the PIP(s) you are interested in. From start to finish, this process can take anywhere from a few days to over a week (so please be patient!). If everything goes well and you and the foster agree that the PIP you want to adopt is a good fit, we will then finalize the adoption.
Adoption fees are $325 for adults and $375 for puppies. All dogs will be up to date on age appropriate vaccines and spayed / neutered if old enough. If not old enough adopters can come back to our vet to have it covered in fee. It must be done by the time the dog is 6 months old.
