Stanly County Humane Society, Inc. is a non-profit corporation recognized by the IRS as 501(c)3. All contributions are tax deductible. Our mailing address is PO Box 1632 Albemarle, NC 28001. We are located only 1 hour from Charlotte and 1 1/2 hours from Greensboro, however, we do not have an actual shelter at this time. We feature both pure and mixed breed dogs that are usually under 20 pounds. Our dogs are fostered in a climate so that we know them well and can place them in the kind of home they need. Our goal is for both the pet and the adoptive family to be very happy with each other.

Meet Pepper

Pepper is easily confused with the taco bell dog from the 90s, we speculate that he's a distant relative possibly a great great great grandson twice removed on his mother's side. he's a very sweet and energetic boy that just wants to find a home where he will be loved and appreciated. he enjoys sunbathing and would love a large, fenced yard to frolic and play. he does well with most people and dogs close to his size. 

Adoption Process
An adoption application must be completed before meeting the pets and an adoption contract is required upon approval to adopt. Our adoption fee is usually $150 - $200. This includes all vet work, including shots, altering and heartworm test.
