Because Avery takes his job as paper weight very seriously. He's never very far from me, whether I'm watching TV or doing chores around the house, he can be found sleeping nearby.  He's the perfect gentleman when left alone. He hasn't shown much interest in toys or chewing, he just wants pets. He's not overly pushy with other dogs or people. He's also got the silkiest coat that's perfect for petting.  He's an all-around good boy! 9/1/2022 Foster Feedback: Avery has been with us for a few days and he is such a sweetheart! He is a young guy but isn’t overly active. He loves to be with people. In fact, he does not understand why the other two dogs in the home like to go outside so much! He prefers to hang out somewhere near whichever human is home at the time. He’s totally content to spend all day on the couch, and when thrown a ball, he will run after it, sniff it, and leave it there.  He does awesome with other dogs as he’s super laid back when it comes to meeting them. He loves the kids in the house too. He’s never jumped on them, but he does have to work on keeping all four paws on the floor when it comes to taller humans. He loves putting his head on a shoulder, but often his front paws follow, so we are working on that as well.  He hasn’t been left alone yet while he’s been with us so we don’t know exactly how he responds to a crate, but he sleeps through the night in our bedroom with our other two dogs and he is perfectly behaved. He’s also never peed on anything inside, and gently lets you know when he needs to go out. He’s also very responsive on a leash.  This boy is a special boy. If you are looking for a kid- and dog-friendly guy, he is it! Of course, he’d also be perfectly happy as an only dog as well.
