_________ B I O ______________ Name: Enrique Size: Small range: Up to 25 lbs Adoption Donation: $250 (applicable sales tax included). Adoption fees may be paid by cash or check. Other: Neutered Male, Vaccinations current, Microchip ** Enrique qualifies for our Seniors for Seniors Program. This program places senior dogs (age 8 or older) with senior citizens (age 65 or older) at a reduced adoption fee of $65.00. If you qualify and are interested in participating in this program, please fill out an application online and type "SENIOR" after your name. ** Enrique has what we suspect is environmental allergies. There has been no testing for this but he has been given a cytopoint injection and it appears this helps with itching. This can be given up to every 4 weeks at a veterinarian and the cost is $94.68 per injection. Enrique would love to retire in a comfy home Foster Home Feedback 2/23/2025 Foster Feedback: Sweet little Enrique has been with us for 6 weeks already and time sure has flown with this bundle of love! Don’t let Enrique’s sugar face fool you, he has spunk for days and is ready to keep you laughing and cuddling for hopefully many more years to come. Enrique is potty trained and does great in his kennel (and should be kenneled when you leave because he’s recently had exploratory surgery to remove things from his stomach he shouldn’t have eaten. He’s an opportunist if given the chance!). Enrique has done amazing with our cat and is living beautifully with our two dogs, although it took him a little longer to like our boisterous girl. I don’t blame him, though; she can be a lot! Enrique loves my husband and I and is so happy to live in a quiet home. He’s a typical little dog who can get worked up and barky with strange noises, so an apartment setting may not fit him best. Enrique is the perfect blend of lazy and active. He loves going for walks and is a little cruiser - he reminds me of a sweet senior man out for a power walk with his friends when we go out. He’s also perfectly happy to cuddle with you or hang out by himself if you’re busy, that is as long as he has access to his favorite thing in the world - a heated blanket. He does ok in the car but sometimes gets anxious. Enrique does get a little overstimulated (shown through whining and barking) in new environments though so the occasional car anxiety probably stems from that. He is such a fast learner though so as long as you have treats to reward him I have no doubt he’ll get better! Enrique has been around kids but should go to a home with older, considerate kids if at all possible. He prefers a quiet home, and at his age, he deserves just that: a place to relax and live a retired life. One of my favorite things about Enrique is how he begs - if he sees you have food he will sit up in a trance like a little meerkat. It’s the cutest most precious thing in the world. Enrique is one of those really special dogs. Once you meet him, you’ll know why. If you sound like you’d be his dream adopter, please fill out an application for this heartbreaker. He deserves only the best.
