Meet Limerick

Meet Limerick!    Limerick is a 2 year old female Portuguese Water Dog, who came to us from a puppy mill. She weighs about 45 lbs and has spent the past 6 weeks in our prison program. She's doing well learning how to be a dog, but is still very shy and untrusting of humans.    Limerick finds comfort in other dogs, but struggles around humans. She will require a patient owner, who has a fenced yard and another confident dog in the home. She also will require regular grooming, as her hair is quite long when fully grown.    When she relaxes, Limerick is sweet and likes to receive affection. It may take a couple of weeks for her to warm up to a new owner, but with time, we know she will make a wonderful pet. Due to her skittish nature, we will not adopt her to a home with small children. She will have a dental cleaning and tooth extraction on May 12th at our vet in London and can go home to her adopter from there if approved by then.
