Hello! My name is Dempsey! If you are looking for an incredibly smart, heartbreakingly handsome, snuggly, cuddly pup, then I am your guy! I am a very sweet boy looking for a forever family. I love meeting new people and making new friends, I truly get along with pretty much everyone I meet. I am very active, energetic, and quite athletic. I love to chase toys, play fetch, and find pesky squeakers to squeak! I love to train and spend a lot of my time learning new skills here. If you have owned a shepherd before, you know that my mind is sharp and ready to work, and I can't stand to feel bored or lazy. I want to learn new things and you know what? I'm really good at it! When I'm not learning or training, I can usually be found in an office here at the shelter. I am so well-behaved, I am an office fave! I am polite, sweet, and give the best cuddles. I am already housebroken and crate trained, and I am wonderful with the medical team (they say I'm the goodest boy around). I do need to be the only animal in my forever home and I need a family who enjoys working with a smarty-pants like me. If you have have owned a shepherd or similar breed before, you'll be the best fit for me. I need a special family who can spend time with me, train me, cuddle me, and take me on adventures. He's fun to train and teach new things and he's always cracking us up. If I share a little snicky-snacky with him, he'll eat what's in the container and then bring me the empty container! He is so affectionate and is always happiest when he has someone to hang out with. He's just the coolest dude.`If this dog has been successful in our play groups it is not a guarantee that a dog will be social with other dogs in their home or in public settings. Dogs are individuals and have personality conflicts, just like us. Play groups do not guarantee that territorial or resource guarding issues will not surface in the home. While play groups do help us get to know the dog's better, once they are adopted their new environments and new relationships will influence their behavior in ways we cannot predict.The Adoption Fee Includes:- initial canine distemper combination vaccination- first worming or stool check- rabies vaccination (for animals over 3 months of age)- 24 Petwatch microchipping- flea treatment/preventative- spaying or neutering-heartworm testingAdoption fee: $135.00Per state law, ALL ADOPTERS must purchase a non-refundable 2024 dog license at time of adoption for any canine three months and older.
