Meet Desmond! Desmond will steal your heart with his sweet and smart demeanor. He was found as a stray but it seems like he was once in a home because he knows basic commands and is completely potty trained and crate trained. Desmond does well on a leash and has energy to play and go for long walks. Des has a number 1 on his chest and he will be the number 1 boy in your heart ♥️ Make Desmond a part of your home today!  Desmond has been tested with cats, kids, and dogs. He does better with smaller dogs but once he warms up he does well with any pets! 

Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
