Hi, I’m Francisco! I’m a 6lb, 11-week-old Chihuahua/Terrier mix with a big personality! I’m a rambunctious little guy who loves to run, play, and cuddle. My favorite thing in the whole world is snuggling up in someone’s arms—seriously, I can’t get enough of it! I’m full of energy and love playing with my brother, Poncho. He’s a little bigger than me, but I’m not shy—I keep up just fine! We have the best time running around together. I’m totally chill around cats—there’s one in my foster home, and I couldn’t care less about her. As long as I can get all the cuddles, I’m happy! I’m also working hard on potty training and I’m pretty smart—getting the hang of it fast! I can’t wait to find my forever home where I’ll get all the love, cuddles, and playtime I deserve.
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
