Meet Winnie

Meet Winnie! She is a 3-year-old Poodle weighing around 17 pounds. This girl came to us from a puppy mill. She has slowly been learning life out of a cage isn’t so scary. Winnie has been in our training program and has done very well! She has learned her commands, walks well on a leash and has started opening up. Winnie has bonded well with her handler and will even play bow and wiggle her whole body when they return from being away. This is huge progress for her! We require our puppy mill dogs go to a home with the following: physically/securely fenced in yard (even though we leash train our pups, puppy mill dogs always remain a flight risk), a patient owner (these dogs may never fully come out of their shell. They need an adopter who doesn’t have unrealistic expectations for their socialization.), no small children living in the home (their activity level and noise can be too much). Occasionally we will also require another, confident dog in the home, but Winnie hasn’t shown much interest in bonding with other dogs. She prefers they keep their distance. But we can’t blame her! We can’t imagine how many other dogs she was forced to live with, in tight spaces, prior to coming to us. Due to this we would like to find Winnie a home as a single dog or with a lowkey dog who will give her some space.   Winnie is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and heartworm negative. She is crate trained, potty trained and doing well with basic commands. If you are interested in adopting Winnie please visit our website and complete an application: https://www.prodogsohio.org/   Her adoption fee is $350
