What a perfect boy! Buster Bee is a beautiful 1-2 year old, 55 pound pit bull mix with an abundance of sweet, goofy personality. He is respectful of my 13-year-old pitty mix while nudging the old gal into play. His test with felines was a recent 2-day stay with a friend whose furry pet attempted to lure him into a cat fight, but Buster Bee appeared to know better and smartly turned his attention elsewhere. He is a snuggle bug and eager to cuddle and show his love. He is fine with the crate (in fact he will open the crate door to voluntarily enter!); he is potty trained. He has a big bark and could provide a sense of security! Buster Bee is a treasure and will be a wonderful family member.
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
