Meet Lau Lau

Aloha! I'm Lau Lau, I'm 9 weeks old and 6 pounds. I am a sweet Dachshund mix, that is always up for a luau!  Do you want to Hula with me? I'm working on house and crate training and doing pretty good for being just a baby.  I love playing with my littermates, my cousins and especially my other dog friends. My favorite to play with are the biggest dogs, like my English Mastiff friend who is 180 pounds! However, no dog is too big or too small, I can hold my own with them all!  My favorite things are cuddles, stuffed toys, fleece blankets, cheese and playing tug of war.   I love people but can be a little shy. I'm looking for my fur-ever family will you be my Ohana? 

Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
