Meet Chaz
Meet Chaz! Chaz is a 2 year old lab-poodle mix, who weighs about 50 lbs. He recently graduated from our prison program and is looking for a forever home! Please read his entire bio before applying, to ensure you meet all of his requirements. Chaz is a bossy dog, who wants to get his way about everything. If he's managed well, he's a pretty easy dog. Managment includes exercising him regularly, supervising him inside the house, crating him when he can't be supervised, and sticking with his anxiety medication schedule, in addition to being a strong, confident leader and not letting him dictate what he can and can't do. He plays well with other dogs but he also bullies them. So any siblings will need to be tolerant of his playstyle and demands! He currently lives in a foster home with a 15 lbs dog and two cats, and he does great with all of them. This adorable pup loves car rides and cuddling on the couch with his foster mom! Due to his poodle mix, he will need regular grooming, but he sits very well for it and has been an easy dog for our inmate groomers to practice with. Chaz tends to bark when he hears strange sounds, so we aren't sure how he'll do in a condo or apartment. With ample mental stimulation and physical exercise, it's minimal, but it can still be annoying to neighbors! We also do not feel that his energy matches well with kids' energy, so we prefer a no-kid household for him. If you are a confident leader, have a fenced yard OR can commit to providing enough exercise for Chaz, are not in an apartment, and are interested in adopting Chaz, please submit an application on our website, www.prodogsohio.org/adoptables. His adoption fee is $350 and includes two one-hour sessions of professional training in the Columbus, Cincinnati, or Dayton area, in order to help transfer his prison training to his adopter. Chaz is fully vetted (neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and heartworm negative). We do adopt outside of those areas but an adopter would need to travel there if they would like to use the training vouchers.
