Friends of Michigan Animal's Rescue

FMAR is a no-kill animal shelter. Our property includes three buildings. Once we take in an animal, it has a home with us for it's lifetime if necessary. The animals at FMAR are mostly strays brought to us by the police or surrenders whose owners cannot care for them. FMAR has a small staff and a large number of volunteers that have a deep love of animals. FMAR is well-know and well-respected in our community, and we continue to strive to provide services to the people and animals in our area.

Meet Molly

Introducing Molly, a beautiful and gentle soul who is ready to find her forever home! This lovely girl came to FMAR as an owner surrender due to her human parents’ difficult situation—through no fault of her own. As she approaches her two-year mark with us, we can’t help but wonder why she hasn’t yet found her perfect match. Molly is well-behaved and enjoys the simple pleasures of life, like quiet walks and cozy naps on her bed. She has developed wonderful relationships with our volunteers and has participated in many Dog Day Out (DDO) events. Molly is a great car companion and loves visiting the park, where she can soak in all the sights and smells. One of her quirkiest loves is getting sprayed in the face with the water hose—it's a sight that never fails to make us laugh! Though Molly is a large dog, she can be a bit unsure of herself at times. She needs a patient and strong person who can provide emotional guidance and reassurance. We believe she would thrive in a calm home with moderate activity and older children, if any. While she has a strong prey drive, making her unsuitable for homes with cats, she has done well on pack walks with other dogs, especially when allowed to take the lead. Molly seems to prefer the company of male dogs, and with a proper introduction, she may enjoy having a canine brother in her new home. She is fully potty trained and has never shown destructive behavior. Molly is truly a wonderful girl, just waiting for the right family to show her the love and security she deserves. If you're looking for a sweet companion who will fill your life with joy, come meet Molly today! If you would like to meet Molly, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention.  Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she has received. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
