Ginger Girl is a very sweet, silly, shy beautiful brindle pit bull mix. She loves learning new tricks, chomping on ice cubes, and romping around. Every dog she meets is a new friend, and while she sometimes moves too quickly for unfamiliar cats, she genuinely seems to just want to play. Ginger Girl is house and crate trained, and while she enjoys her food and treats, has not been observed to resource guard. She recently had her spay surgery and is already back to her fun loving, playful self. Ginger Girl responds well to positive reinforcement and training treats, and has already made incredible progress. She is a very shy girl and may need time to fully blossom in a new environment. -65 lbs -House trained -Crate trained -Loves other dogs -Appears to tolerate cats
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
