Meet Casey

Casey is 3-5 yrs old. Casey is in the very first days of what will be a wonderful life, she just doesn’t know it yet. She is anxious and stays in the back of her crate to watch what is going on around her. She is scared to meet dogs and people. Her foster mom thinks one day Casey may be okay with older kids, but she is so easily spooked by being touched and loud noises that younger children wouldn’t be a good fit. She hates the cold and snow so far. Casey only eats food and drinks water when alone in a room. However, there are glimmers of hope. She was fine meeting the two resident cats at the same time and only sniffed them. Another sign of her true personality is that she is absolutely fascinated by TV and will lie in her foster mom’s lap watching attentively. Casey will do best in a calm, typically quiet home.    This is a glimpse of the condition in which some dogs enter AHDRO’s care. Consistent, unconditional love and the best of care can make miraculous changes. Time and patience is needed. Casey is only “almost home.” One day she will be home, where she will truly blossom.
