Meet Joe Bob

J oe Bob, affectionately known as "Joey," is a sweet 2-year-old red Doberman who has overcome a difficult beginning. Rescued from an Amish breeder, Joey's past was one of little care, medical attention, or affection. But now, he's slowly discovering what it means to give and receive love. Joey's journey has come with some unique traits that make him all the more special. He has a distinctive cleft nose, which doesn't require any surgery – we think it adds to his charm! Despite his challenging past, Joey had successful surgery to correct entropion, a condition affecting his eyelid. Joey loves to carry around fabric items like towels, blankets, or anything soft he can find. He's also a big fan of chewing on deer antlers and Nylabones. This sweet boy craves gentle affection and adores pets and scratches. Every day, he shows us just how much he wants to trust people, and he’s making beautiful progress. Joey is wonderful with kids and other dogs, though he can be a bit timid when meeting new people. Once he warms up, he becomes a total love bug, ready to snuggle and play. He has moderate energy, enjoying a balance of running laps around the backyard with his foster dog siblings and curling up on the couch for some cuddle time. Joey does get startled by loud noises and will need a home with a secure, fenced yard where he can safely play and explore. He has a high prey drive, so he isn’t a good fit for homes with cats or small animals like chickens or bunnies. He's been fantastic with children of all ages. Joey has been working with a trainer and has already mastered several commands like sit, heel, come, place, no, and leave it. With continued training, he’s sure to blossom even more. He’s looking for an adopter who has patience and time to help him continue his journey towards trust and love. Joey is ready to find his forever home.  Is it yours?  Apply at www.DUdobes.org Doberman Underground adopts to Ohio and some close in parts of bordering states.  There is a full list of states and specific counties we adopt to at the top of our application.   * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *  Sponsor Me by purchasing: Toys / Treats $10.00 USDLeash & Collar $15.00 USDMonth of Food $35.00 USDMonthly Heartworm/Flea/Tick $40.00 USDTransportation Costs $60.00 USDVaccinations $100.00 USDSpay / Neuter $150.00 USDThyroid Panel $150.00 USDIncoming vetting $300.00 USDHeartworm Treatment $1,500.00 USD
