Meet Dalton

Meet Dalton, our newest resident at the Mikey & Me Kennels for Happy Days Rescue. Dalton is a 4 year old Husky/Shepherd mix and he weighs about 60 pounds. He has a beautiful tri-colored coat and the most beautiful blue eyes. Dalton was born in August of 2020 and lived with his mother and siblings at the owner’s home. Sadly, it sounds like the pups spent most of their daytime in crates. They were all confiscated from the home on May 1st of this year after they were found being neglected. Dalton came to us about 2 weeks ago; I’ve waited to post him until I had the time to know him better. I can tell you that Dalton is a very nice boy, he enjoys meeting new people and taking walks outside. He walks very nicely on-leash and has been nonreactive to people, cars, and critters outside. He’s only recently started playing with toys and he now greets me each morning holding one. Dalton may be a little shy when meeting you for the first time but once he realizes he’s safe with you, he wants to be close. The only caveat is that Dalton doesn’t like cats. Dalton will have his first Vet appt. on Friday, September 6th. He has already had a rabies shot and received his vaccinations while at the shelter. At his appt. Dalton will have a wellness exam, heart worm test, he will be microchipped, and I have a feeling he’s going to leave there with a lot of new girlfriends. ❤️ If you would like to meet Dalton, please submit an adoption application under his name at happydaysdogandcatrescue.org. Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue microchips all dogs and cats before adoption. Microchips are implanted between the shoulder blades and are another form of identification should the animal get lost. The microchips are registered to    Happy Days Dog and Cat Rescue. The adopter's information is added once the adoption is complete. The adopter is responsible for a $19.99/Year registration fee or a $45.00/Lifetime registration fee to change information.    Dogs and Cats still need to have collar with tags should they get lost.

Adoption Process
Approved adoption application required. Vet check of current and past animals required. Home assessment / home visit with the entire family, including all current pets required. If adoption occurs, Adoption Contract is required. Spay/neuter Agreement required [if animal not fixed at time of adoption] Return of animal to the rescue if the adoption doesn't work out is required. Adoption fee required; however, the fee varies based on the age and health of the animal. Special rates apply for seniors adopting seniors.
