Meet Delaney

This blue-eyed beauty is DELANEY, a gorgeous young Australian Shepherd girl looking for a furever home. Delaney is still a puppy, 9-10 months old. She's fully grown, currently 30 lbs. but a little too skinny, she needs to add 3-5 lbs. Delaney is a friendly, medium-energy girl with a spectacular chocolate and white coat that will grow more lush with a proper diet. Delaney is good with other dogs and best suited to a home with another playful dog and a physically-fenced yards. Please do some research on Aussies before applying if you're not familiar with the breed. They are herding dogs who need plenty of exercise and mental stimulation. Aussies are wicked smart dogs who require an experienced, dog-savvy adopter. We prefer not to send herding dogs to homes with small children because little ones don't typically enjoy being herded. If you'd like to meet Delaney, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
