325.Meet Jed
JED is a super-handsome beagle mix pup looking for a new home. He's 4.5 months old and currently 16 pounds. He'll probably be in the 30ish pound range when fully grown. Jed had a very rough start in life. He was in the home of a horrible "man" who mistreated him. Jed was stuck in a cage outdoors in the freezing January weather because he vomited and had diarrhea inside the house, and if the dog didn't freeze to death, the "man" threatened to "bash his skull in". Thankfully a network of rescue angel women got Jed to safety and got him to the vet to be treated for his illness. He was treated for Parvo, a potentially deadly disease for puppies. Where did he get Parvo? No doubt in the home of his former "human". Jed was fortunate enough to have a community that rallied to pay for his treatment with donations, fostered him through his Parvo shedding period, and now he's ready for a wonderful new life. Jed is an absolutely delightful puppy. He's a very affectionate boy, great with other dogs, loves to play, loves toys and is fine with kitties. He can be a bit timid with men thanks to his past "human", but he's just a pup and will be fine with kind men. He's best suited to a home with another playful dog and a physically-fenced yard. If you'd like to meet Jed, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial foster-to-adopt period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care.
