Meet Henry Eye Patch! He’s a little 30 to 35 pound mutt. But what he lacks in fancy pedigree he makes up for with his excellent temperament and affection. He is a well-behaved boy who enjoys car rides and playing with his buddies at daycare. He has no stranger danger and is a perfect gentleman at the veterinarian. He does not even mind bath time! Henry is great with other dogs and does not seem to have a mean bone in his body. He’s only about one year-old so he is mature enough to be beyond the baby puppy stuff but young enough to learn all the ropes with his new family. Henry is the perfect size and age to fit right into your heart.
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
