Meet Lucy

Dogs posted are currently up for adoption unless otherwise noted.  Our goal is to match dogs with a suitable home/family so that at any time, dogs shown here may already have a potential match.  We post dogs as quickly as possible however there may be some not yet pictured. We allow our dogs time to settle in with their foster families so that we can evaluate their health and personality. Lucy is 10 mths old and her adoption fee is $450.00 Physical Fenced-in Yard: Must have   Oh how we do love Lucy! You will too. She has the looks but most importantly, she has the heart.  Lucy is that wonderful, unbeatable mix of playful and loving. She just loves to run and run and run so a physical fenced-in yard will be required. She gets along great with her foster siblings, wants to play with the cat (though she is still being taught to stop when the cat says she’s had enough), and loves playing with her foster mom. She does have an impish side, liking to sometimes nip her foster family's backsides. Collies and their sense of humor! They are working on her controlling that urge. Because lovable Lucy is so feisty and full of energy, she will do best with a doggy sibling who also enjoys roughhousing with her during play. Currently, Lucy is learning her manners but is prone to jumping and acting like a big puppy, a really big puppy.   Lucy is head sensitive, meaning she doesn’t like to have the leash or collar pulled or sometimes even her head petted. She has allowed being petted but cringed. However, she is now learning that it actually feels pretty good to have her head petted. Lucy has been sleeping in bed with her fosters and loves the snuggle time.   If that isn’t enough, empathetic Lucy is one of those extraordinary dogs that can sense when their family needs comfort. When Lucy’s foster family’s older dog passed, Lucy sensed their sorrow and responded by giving hugs. Yes, she gives gentle hugs! Lucy then sat with her foster mom, rested her paw on her leg and stared out the window with her. Needless to say, Lucy likes to cuddle, but she has manners and will ask before climbing up onto the couch or bed to do so. This playful, gentle, intuitive, beautiful Lucy is truly special. We do love this collie lass named Lucy.
