Hello! My name is Kielbasa, I'm 12 weeks old and 6 pounds. I am a petite little Dachshund mix. I'm working on house training and doing pretty good for being just a baby. I am already able to keep my crate clean and I sleep in my crate all night! I love playing with my littermates and cousins, my people, and any dog that wants to be my friend! No dog is too big or too small, I can hold my own with them all! My favorite things are cuddles, giving kisses, burrowing in blankets for a nap, cheese, peanut butter and squeaky toys. I love, love, love people! I'm looking for my fur-ever family. Are you looking for a best friend?
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
