Meet Moo Deng, our very own House Hippo in need of a foster-to-adopt home while she undergoes heartworm treatment. Moo Deng is a sweet girl who would love to be your one and only! She loves to snuggle and is a total Velcro dog. She loves when her foster mom works from home so she can nap in her office (10/10 would recommend sleeping on the job)! She loves taking walks and happily moves through a park without being bothered by people, cars, bikes, or other dogs. She would prefer to be the only animal in the household and the apple of your eye. She is crate trained and potty trained and very food motivated! She loves toys and running around outside. Moo Deng is one of the most affectionate dogs, and would be so happy just relaxing with her family on the couch every night! Adopt Moo Deng today!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
