Meet Lucho

Meet Lucho!!!  This shy but loving 4-year-old, 38 pound Boxer mix is looking for a forever family to help build his confidence and show him all the love he deserves. While he can be a bit timid at first, he’s incredibly sweet and has a heart full of affection once he feels comfortable. He would do wonderfully in a home with another dog to help him learn the ropes and bond with. He’s also fantastic with kids, making him a great addition to any family looking for a loyal companion. If you have the patience to let him blossom, he’ll reward you with endless love and loyalty. Could Lucho be your new best friend? Lucho is learning to walk on a leash and is potty and crate trained. 

Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
