Meet Hope
Hope is a 3-year-old pocket-sized mix breed who came to us as a stray, frightened and unsure of the world around her. We gave her the name "Hope" because we believe in the bright future she deserves, and we’re committed to helping her on her journey to trusting again. Although Hope was initially very nervous and unsure of her new environment, she has already made incredible progress thanks to the loving care of our staff and volunteers. Hope’s journey is just beginning, and with time, patience, and gentle guidance, we know she can blossom into a wonderful companion. While she’s still shy and hesitant with new people and situations, her circle of trusted humans is slowly expanding, and she’s gaining confidence each day. When Hope first arrived, she didn’t understand leashes, but we’ve been working with her regularly, and now she’s learning that they’re not so scary after all! The right home could make all the difference in Hope’s life. She would thrive in a calm, quiet environment where she can continue to build her confidence at her own pace. A home with older children (if any) who can respect her need for space and patience would be ideal. Hope will need a family who understands that progress may be slow, but with time and understanding, she could become a loving and loyal companion. Hope has shown that she is comfortable with other dogs, and we believe that introducing her to a calm, confident dog could be a great way to help her gain even more confidence. With a gentle, loving home, we are confident that Hope will flourish into the sweet, affectionate dog she’s meant to be. If you’re looking for a patient and compassionate companion who needs a little extra time to shine, Hope could be your perfect match. Come meet her today and let her show you just how special she is! If you would like to meet Hope, please submit an application for her on our website https://www.friendsofmichigan.org/adoptable-dogs. She is spayed, up to date on all age appropriate vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped, and on monthly flea, tick, and heartworm prevention. Her adoption fee is $250, which covers part of the medical care she has received. **Each dog is different, so each adoption is different. Our adoption process might require multiple visits to the shelter before our dogs can go home. Or they may be ready on the first visit. It really depends on the individual dog and the potential adopters. Once we receive your application, the Dog Staff will contact you to discuss meeting our dogs.
