Meet Kanai, the lovable girl with a heart of gold! With her friendly demeanor, she gets along with dogs of all sizes, spreading joy wherever she goes. Kanai's excitement is contagious, especially when she shows off her adorable zoomies! She's tidy in her crate and eagerly exploring the world of toys, though her favorite is undoubtedly her Christmas Tree toy—a true believer in Christmas year round! Sweet and affectionate, Kanai loves to hold you with her paws while showering you with gentle kisses. It's impossible not to fall in love with this sweet girl!

Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
