Let's dive right in! Michael Phelps takes the gold medal in cuteness! He is sure to get along swimmingly with you and your family. He enjoys cuddles, kisses, and chewing on teether toys. He is very playful at times, not shying away from our big dogs. He is a lab-mix and approximately 10 weeks old. He is crate trained, potty trained (90%), and working on being leash trained. He is good with all manner of humans (big and small) as well as other dogs (we have 3 of our own). He has not yet been tested with cats. He enjoys long walks, and even longer swims. You should see his doggy paddle! ❤️
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
