200Meet Humphrey
What a face! Humphrey is a big doofus. When he arrived he weighed 14 lbs. He was living in a crate and being starved to death. But with the right vet care and foster he is now 40 lbs and loving life. He still wants to eat too fast so he uses a special bowl to slow him down. Humphrey is still learning he can go outside to potty and he doesn't have to do his business in his crate. At some point his ears were cut off, probably with scissors, but that doesn't seem to bother him. And it just gives him a special look, along with his squatty muscular body. He needs a strong person to help him keep learning life can be good. He can be reactive with some dogs. No idea about cats but probably should not live with them. He does think he should be a lap dog and loves belly rubs. Adoption Process
We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $100 for kittens (4 months and younger), $85 for kittens 5 or 6 months, $75 for adult cats, $50 for Wise Whiskers (7 years and older). We often have adoption specials where the adoption fees are lowered. The adoption fee includes the animals already being spayed/neutered, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), all vaccinations (FVRCP and DHLPP), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies adopted are not old enough to have received a rabies vaccine, then the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done), microchip, flea/tick/heartworm preventative.
