Meet Keno

Are you ready to hit the jackpot? KENO is a stunning mixed breed girl looking for a home. Keno isn't just a pretty face, this girl is SMART. Keno is a herding breed-type mix, probably some border collie and/or some Australian Shepherd and who knows what else? She's about 2 years old and fully grown at 38 pounds, a nice mid-sized dog. Keno (her actual name) has excellent recall and LIVES to play fetch. If you've got a ball, you have a friend in Keno. She has lovely leash manners, too. Keno is active and athletic and needs a home with an adopter who will insure she gets plenty of exercise. Keno would be a great partner for a runner and would thrive in agility training. She's great with similar-sized dogs but not so good with small dogs. Keno loves toys and fetch and is best suited to a home with a physically fenced yard. Keno is housebroken and crate trained. If you'd like to meet stunning Keno, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Keno at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
