Meet Gavin

Gavin is an adorable young bundle of joy. His energy is infectious, his goofiness endearing, his ears gravity defying. He's always up for a tasty treat, dancing with excitement as he eagerly awaits a yummy reward. In addition to his playful nature, Gavin is a great cuddler. Gavin is around 1 year old and fully grown at 19 pounds. His breed mix is a mystery, maybe some whippet? Honestly, we have no clue, he appears to be a Heinz 57 Varieties-type mixed breed boy. Gavin can be a bit timid when meeting new people and in new settings but he warms up quickly. He's housebroken, crate trained, dog and cat friendly and best suited to a home with another friendly dog. If you would like to meet Gavin, please complete an adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter.   All of our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoption fee covers the dog’s veterinary care, including spay/neuter surgery, vaccines, microchip, deworming, flea and tick prevention, heartworm prevention and any other needed veterinary care. A deposit is required to take a dog home for a trial period. The deposit will be applied to the dog’s final adoption fee.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
