Meet Kai

URGENT FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED // JULY 1 DEADLINE Kai is an approximately 5-year-old 50 lb spayed female pitbull who was adopted through Dog Gone Seattle in 2020 and has been lovingly cared for and well trained by her owner for the last two years. Unfortunately Kai is being "vacated from the premises" of the owner's residence with a deadline of July 1 and the owner is unable to move to keep her. Dog Gone Seattle does not have a foster option for her and we are helping to rehome her by this deadline.  Kai is a wonderful loyal and loving dog, very smart and well trained. She has completed extensive training with Take the Lead K9 Training. She knows sit, down, place, heel, and lots more. She is house trained and crate trained but also good in the house if left alone. She loves meeting new people and has no human aggression. Kai does need a specific home. While she can walk politely around other dogs with a competent handler she is not dog-friendly and cannot live with another dog. Her current owner takes her on hikes and several long walks a day without issue but a new owner would need to build a relationship and learn how to advocate for Kai in order to do this with her. Kai has had alteracations with other dogs in the past (when she has been rushed by off leash dogs) and she has NOT caused any damage to other dogs but if not managed properly she could, so she will need a pitbull savvy owner who is willing to lead her and advocate her to keep her safe. She can also be mouthy when overstimulated so someone who is comfortable implementing boundaries and providing structure is needed.  Adopter Profile: Large dog experience required Pitbull experience preferred No other animals in the home Single family residence required (no apartments) Fenced yard preferred No children under 12 Anyone interested in adopting Kai will receive training with Take the Lead to set her up for success. She has been trained at Take the Lead K9 training and lovingly cared for. She is being evicted from her home with a deadline of July 1 to find a new home.
