Meet Katy

Meet Katy!  Katy is the oldest of the “baker’s dozen” puppies rescued from a very bad situation in Southern Oregon.  Katy came into rescue with a significant limp and required TPLO surgery.  With the efforts of Katy’s foster family and an amazing community donor, Katy has had her surgery and is ready for her forever home!  Her follow up appointment was August 8 and we although she is cleared for normal activities, her foster mom is taking it slow. Katy is a sweet soul who just wants to be with her “pack.”  Katy’s foster says she “loves everyone and just wants to be loved.”  She would benefit from a home with children over 6 and with family members who are at home more than they are away.  She would love to laze on the sofa and sleep in the bed and she will happily sit on your lap for as long as you like!  Katy is young and full of life and would love to be part of yours!  Katy is being fostered in Florence OR and can be adopted within OR-WA.  OUR REQUIREMENTS FOR PUPPY ADOPTION: 1) PUPPIES WILL ONLY BE PLACED IN HOMES THAT HAVE AT LEAST ONE MEDIUM TO LARGE YOUTHFUL, PLAYFUL RESIDENT DOG that is age 1 or older. This helps integrate the dog into your household easier by giving the pup a mentor. 2) These puppies can be livestock dogs to farms and homesteads experienced in training LGDs. They also must be family pets that are allowed inside the home. 3) In addition to the youthful playful dog, someone must also be home at least part of the day. Please do not apply for a puppy if you are gone 8+ hours a day. 4) We give preference to applicants with prior Great Pyrenees knowledge/experience. 5) Secure and visible fencing required. 6) You must have a plan in place to socialize your puppy properly. Adoption Fee: $375 All of our puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on age appropriate vaccinations.  We do not adopt to families with children under the age of 6. Transport Fee: $350 Transport fee includes the cost of transport plus the Health Certificate required for USDA approved transport. All of our puppies are spayed/neutered and up to date on vaccinations. Adoption applications can be found on our website: www.greatpyrsandpaws.org https://greatpyrsandpaws.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=5959 Northwest adopter pays cost of transport to independent transport company.  Transport is arranged by GPPR.

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must submit an application. The application is screened and approved only if adopter meets fence requirements, passes vet check and phone interview process. The adopter must sign our adoption contract and pay the $275-$375 adoption fee.
