Cari is a sweet 12 lb spud that’s around 2 years old. Cari’s forever home must spoil her with toys because these are her favorite! She absolutely loves to play with all kinds of toys and is often carrying her favorite reindeer toy around. Squeaky toys, tennis balls, rope toys, little stuffed animal toys.. you name it. She loves to play chase, tug, and even entertains herself with her favorites. In her foster home she lives with three other small dogs, and really loves the company of other dogs of all sizes and loves to play with them. She’s enjoyed the local dog park, and on leash greets big and small dogs very nicely. She is confident with dogs, and can also have a bossy girl vibe when it comes to her toys and wanting to hog attention so her future dog siblings should be confident too, and won't mind having a new sister that’s going to strut around the home. She’s had a rough past that’s left her with a scar on her head, and her jaw was broken at some point in her life that healed funky leaving her tongue to hang out the side of her mouth. We don't know what happened in this injury, and Cari is also a distemper survivor which has left her with a rhythmed tick in her tongue and right arm (see the videos), but it doesn’t bother her one bit. Her future family will need to make sure her teeth are in good shape as her wonky jaw shape can leave her disposed to poor dental health if not managed. Despite what may have happened from this injury, and the neurological damage that’s left her with this twitch, nothing has stopped her from being a really happy-go-lucky girl that absolutely loves to be the center of your attention. She likes to make friends with new people, and has a very sweet gentle approach, enjoying when people are gentle and slow with her too. Once someone gives her some of those neck scratches though she quickly melts into it and declares you her best friend. Cari does well being home alone for a few hours, and loves to have a chew or enrichment puzzle to play with. Shredding up little boxes with treats hidden inside is a favorite past time! She’s getting better every day with using a doggy door to go potty outside, and knows a “go potty” command. She’s working on her confidence out on walks, taking many pauses to observe her surroundings, but sticks close and doesn’t pull. On walks we’ve noticed she perks up when she gets to be around other dogs and then is happy to follow their lead–another reason we think she’d do great in a home with a confident dog. This little chonk is so endearing, cuddly, and has the best bleps in the world. We know she’ll bring her forever family so much love and laughs. Underdogs are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. Adoption fee is $390. She is being fostered in Portland. You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog.
