Meet Haroo

Meet Haroo! Harro is a 10 year old chihuahua with an endearing snaggle tooth who is looking for his forever family, where he can share his golden years, but don’t underestimate his age - he’s got spunk and loves to play! He eagerly will paw at your hand to ask for more pets, and if it’s not cuddle time he’ll run to find his favorite toy or ball and bring it for you to play with him.   Haroo loves sitting in your lap, and gets along with amicable dogs who will respect his space and listen to his boundaries when this old man is in a grumpy mood. He walks well on leash, but can sometimes get spooked by people and loud noises. Before he was given up, he went to live in another home that wasn’t giving him any opportunities to go outside to potty, so in his foster home he’s been brushing up on his housetraining and is doing well! Having him wear a belly band inside as he adjusts to his new home will help set him up for success, but he’s a smart boy and picks up a routine quickly and does fine being left alone for a few hours too. He’s been through quite a lot in the past few months, but he has a big heart and is ready to find his forever people.   Haroo recently had a teeth cleaning and some teeth extracted and he's got a great healthy mouth now! He's up to date on all his vaccines and is microchipped too, he has a grade 2 luxating patella (loose knee) in one of his rear legs, but given his older age & it doesn't bother him and no surgery or meds are needed. His bloodwork came back excellent and he's a healthy Senior!!!   Haroo is part of our Elders of Underdogs & Senior for Senior Programs. For Seniors (65+) he can be adopted through our Program at $125.00 for everyone else his Elder adoption fee is $280.00 You MUST have an Underdogs Rock Rescue application on file to request a meet with an Underdog. An online Underdogs Rock adoption application can only be accessed at  https://underdogsrock.org/adopt-a-dog  . You must be available to meet an Underdog in the Portland area.  Dogs are not held for applicants or shipped outside of the Portland metro area. Home checks are part of the process and will be conducted virtually or at time of meet up if done at applicant's home. Adoption Process
All adoptions require a contract, our fees vary on the situation. We complete home inspections prior to adoption and follow up with adopters after the adoption for assistance if needed.
