Drifter was found by a rescuer that cannot keep him. He is good with other dogs and is patient with my puppy. He is so loveable and he just wants to sit by you or climb in your lap. He is good around horses, chickens, and other animals. He is playful and loves to play in the pond and with the water hose as he bites and jumps at the water. He enjoys long walks and is pretty good on a leash. He will walk into his kennel without any problems. Drifter loves kids and is good around my 3 cats. He is outside in a kennel most of the time but he has been in the house several times and has had no accidents. Drifter is about 6 years old and he weighs 51 lbs. He is neutered and up to date on shots (DHLPP, rabies, and Bordetella). Drifter was treated for heartworm disease and has just finished his treatment. If you’d like to meet Drifter, please call 706-799-6099. This pup is posted as courtesy and is not affiliated with the Humane Society of McCormick County (HSMC). HSMC is not liable for this pup and an adoption of this pup would be independent of the HSMC. By courtesy posting, we are offering our website as an additional outlet to help an owner or rescuer gain additional exposure for the dog they are trying to place.
Adoption Process
Our adoption process starts with an interview. We want to know what type of cat or dog they are looking for, their lifestyle, and their expectations. Then we set up a meet and greet either at the shelter, a pet store, or at their home. Then they fill out an adoption contract. We offer and encourage potential adopters to take the dog or cat home on foster-to-adopt for a few weeks before finalizing the adoption. Our adoption fee is $65 for cats and $125 for dogs which included spay or neuter and vaccinations and for dogs, it includes a microchip. Cats can be microchipped upon request.
