Save the Strays Animal Rescue

Save the Strays has been rescuing abandoned and unwanted dogs since 2003. Our goal is to find them new homes where they will be treated as cherished family members. Dogs that aren’t adoptable remain with us for as long as they live. We are an all-volunteer, no-kill rescue incorporated as a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization and public charity. All donations to our rescue are tax-deductible and are used solely to pay for our dogs’ care.

Meet Hope

HOPE is an 8-year-old Peke-a-Pom that was found abandoned in a busy parking lot. She's understandably a little nervous but is learning to trust again and is even beginning to be a little playful. We're looking for a quiet home with adopters who can give her the love and attention she deserves. Hope has a heart murmur which requires daily medication. She also has some sight impairment. She can find her way around just fine but doesn't see close-up objects clearly. Otherwise, Hope is in good condition. Her blood panels are all normal. She's now at a healthy weight. And she just had dentistry. We're waiving her adoption fee and will provide a 6-month supply of heart meds and heartworm prevention to encourage a loving individual or couple to give her the home she deserves. Please email Save the Strays for more information or an application.

Adoption Process
Potential adopters must complete an application, provide references and be interviewed. If approved, they must sign an adoption contract and pay an adoption fee, which is refundable if a dog is returned to us within two weeks of the adoption date.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
