Dakota Dachshund Rescue

Diane started doing fostering at the Sioux Falls Humane Society and then Pet Pals for Life. She had a passion for dachshunds. We noticed that the Sioux Falls area had a need for a dachshund rescue so her and I (Doug) started DDR. The response and need was much greater than we anticipated.

I am deaf so I need to learn sign language for training me. I also have some vision defects. I am all puppy! I run, chase, play, wrestle, eat and drink and pass out hard as I am still growing. I do require a fenced yard as I cannot hear anything coming at me and I have vision issues. I am a beautiful baby girl that needs a very special home of my own. I am currently 5 months old. I currently weigh 14 pounds and am growing My adoption fee is $500 plus sales tax $22.50=$522.50Local adoption only so I can be spayed at 6 months.    My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter/spay, dental if needed and microchipping.

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
