Meet Theodore

We are an all-volunteer/foster home-based rescue. Apply to adopt by filling out the online adoption application on our main website dakotadachshundrescue.org Click on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page. Fill out the form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it.  Theodore is a bit shy at first but is already coming out of his shell  He loves to play with the other foster pups and is curious about everything  Chew toys are a must for him  Theodore is busy learning all the rules of the house and will make somebody a great snuggle buddy  Theodore must have a fenced yard  He does not walk on a leash at all  Theodore is about one and a half and weighs about 9 pounds  His adoption fee is $600 plus tax of $27 for a total of $627     My adoption fee helps cover all of my vetting needs such as HW test, rabies, DHPPL, Bordetella, neuter, dental if needed and microchipping.

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
