Meet Alex

Alex is the sweetest little male yorkie, he is 1.5 years old. He's very shy and skittish but learning to love life so much. He has discovered that he very much likes watermelon and came right over and took it from his foster mom's hand. Alex's kennel is his safe place and he goes in there on his own throughout the day. He isn't super comfortable snuggling up with his foster mom on the couch yet but at night time likes to be as close to her as possible.  Alex is working hard on his housetraining. He sleeps through the night and always keeps his kennel clean. He is not a fan of being on a leash so a fenced in yard is a must. He would love a home with a female dog his size to help show him the ropes and build confidence. Alex likes to resource guard from other dogs. He will need a home with older, respectful children only.    ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS: Physically fenced in yard to keep him safe - no invisible fences. Harness/leash walking is still very much a work in progress. Resident dog to help show Alex the ropes and build his confidence. Older, respectful children only. Alex is scheduled for his neuter/dental on 8/13. He tested negative for heartworm & tick-borne disease, is current on vaccinations & monthly preventatives, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $500 plus tax.
