Meet MADDIE (Spayed!)
MADDIE is Mountain Cur and possibly an Aussie mixture. She arrived at the beginning of January 2025 and staff estimated her age at about nine years. She does have gray in the muzzle. She also has a large fatty tumor on her left shoulder. It was examined by a local veterinarian who said that it is cosmetic only - not something that a nine-year-old dog should be subject to having removed surgically for that reason alone. Luckily, she has already been spayed, so she simply needs to find a person or family that would like to adopt her and take her home. Her intake weight was 30 pounds so she is not a difficult size dog to manage. She is gentle and friendly in nature. Serious adopters are encouraged to CALL the shelter to schedule an adoption appointment. Staff can explain the adoption procedures and fees when you call. The shelter does require EXACT change in the form of cash or a check. The shelter is UNABLE to accept credit or debit. So, please go prepared! That includes taking a dog collar and leash with you to the adoption appointment in case you do decide to adopt MADDIE. Even better, take a dog crate with you to that appointment. No animal should be allowed to run freely in any vehicle. Especially an animal that you have just adopted! Safety first!
Adoption Process
Adoption contract, Adoption fee of $50 per cat and $80 per dog set by county commission and subject to change, drivers license and cash or check only. The adoption fees currently cover most, but not all, of the spay/neuter cost incurred by the county.
