Meet Opal

To adopt please fill out an adoption Application  Opal is a 4yo female lab mix who was rescued as a stray in Mississippi.  Sweet, well-socialized, calm, low maintenance. What beautiful amber eyes she has! Great with cats and other dogs and living comfortably with a cat and beagle buddy in her foster home. Good with kids and recommended for children 6 years and older. Playful with moderate activity level outside (loves to chase the squirrels!) and settles down quickly in the house. Good house manners. Crate trained and housebroken. Obeys basic commands.  Loves to be with her people.  When she first came to us, Opal had heartworms, but she was treated without complications and cured and is now ready for adoption. Healthy and fully vetted, current on shots, spayed, weighs about 45 pounds. AWESOME young lab/terrier mix will make a great companion (and jogging partner) for an active family. Here’s a note from her foster mom:  Opal is the best and sweetest foster dog we've had the pleasure to host! She's affectionate, easy-going, and a JEWEL; she loves other dogs, cats and people! She sleeps in a crate all night without a fuss until morning, is housetrained, and we've had no accidents in the house or crate. She's become a great leash/harness walker, and is non-reactive to other dogs we encounter (quite interested in squirrels, tho). Opal loves toys, balls, kongs, and especially TREATS, knows "sit", "come", her name, and responds well to corrections. She would do well in a busy household with children and other pets, or would also thrive with an active adult to take her on walks and hikes...Opal will melt your heart with her golden eyes!
